U.S. Resigns, World Cup Held In Europe



Zurich - Continental Europe will certainly hold the World Cup finals (PD) in 2018 following the resignation of United States (U.S.) who want to focus host PD 2022. The U.S. move to get a reply from the UK who canceled a plan

to host the PD 2022.

Thus, the stay remaining four candidates from the European continent are still more likely to host the PD 2018, namely English, Russian, and two co-host: Netherlands-Belgium, and Spain-Portugal. Meanwhile, five states a chance to be host PD 2022: U.S., Australia, Japan, Qatar, and South Korea.

"Some time ago we spoke with FIFA and UEFA related to the possibility of focusing on the nomination (PD) 2022, an option that has been disclosed several times. We believe the decision (cancellation PD 2018) is the best step for the U.S. bidding" said Sunil Gulati, chairman of the Committee U.S. bidding.

FIFA warmly welcomed the U.S. decision. "We have made constructive dialogue with the U.S. following the growing magnitude of potential implementation of PD 2018 was held in Europe. So, FIFA appreciates U.S. decision to focus on bidding PD 2022" said Secretary General of FIFA, Jerome Valcke.

The U.S. move followed the British themselves who resigned from the prospective host PD 2022. Britain gives confirmation to the related cancellation of the FIFA 2022 and PD candidates will concentrate on the competition to host the World 2018.
