Phillip Island - After taking the first position in the second practice session of Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner managed to become the fastest driver in qualifying races in his cage, the Australian MotoGP. And the new world champion Jorge Lorenzo
came in second place.
Qualifying took place on Phillip Island circuit on Saturday (16/10/2010), in weather conditions that are still hostile, still accompany by wind tight race qualifying session at Phillip Island. But Stoner was able to show appear neat and Stoner eventually became the fastest with a time of 1 minute 30.107 seconds.
Behind Stoner, followed in second place is Lorenzo. 2010 world champion who ride Yamaha recorded the best time of 1 minute 30.875 seconds. While third place belonged to Ben Spies (Yamaha Tech 3) with a time of 1 minute 31.386.
Marco Simoncelli and Colin Edwards entitled to start from fourth and fifth, while the sixth and seventh starting position belongs to Nicky Hayden and Randy De Puniet.
But unfortunately "The Doctor" is not able to record the results of the neat because it only occupies the eighth position. Following in the ninth position is Andrea Dovizioso.
At the time of qualification into the last minute, rain soaked the track so that all the drivers chose to go the garage rather than forcing yourself to fix the time.
