Liverpool - Liverpool's board announced it had agreed the sale of the club with the New England Sports Ventures (NESV), which is also the owner of the Boston Red Sox baseball club, despite the challenges posed by the current owner

, Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

Dispute over ownership of Liverpool started with the club's debt to Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), which according to reports in the UK, worth 237 million pounds. Hicks and Gillett difficulty paying so decided to sell it. If Liverpool do not get a new buyer or pay this debt on Oct. 6, RBS will take over.

There are allegations, Hicks and Gillett are still not ready to sell Liverpool. They called trying to buy time and while it's looking for a loan from another party to pay off debt to RBS. That way, they can extend their power and seek a buyer willing to pay more expensive, than when sold under the pressure.

However, Liverpool's official website, the directors say ready to fight the desire Hicks-Gillett, and forced sales, and while it will take legal steps to resolve internal conflicts Broughton-Purslow-Ayre against Hicks-Gillett).

Without mentioning other candidates, Broughton stated the directors will sell the club to NESV and acquisition process. He confessed hope, the process of acquisition will be completed within one week.

"I am delighted that we have successfully concluded the sales process thoroughly and widely. NESV Directors decided to accept proposals on the basis that is consistent with the criteria that we set for the new owners," said Broughton through Liverpool's official website.

"Philosophy NESV always about winning and they have shown that the Red Sox. We met them in Boston, London and Liverpool for a few weeks, and I was impressed with what they have achieved and their vision for Liverpool Football Club,"

"By removing the burden of debt, this offering allows us to focus on the investment team. I am disappointed because the owner has done everything possible to prevent the occurrence of the deal and we will make the legal process to complete this sale," he explained.
