Indeed, the Australian Grand Prix first practice session was delayed nearly two hours due to heavy rain which flushed the track. Also sand beside the track is coming down to the track and is considered to be dangerous rider. Even when the exercise has been started, the circuit has not been "clean" because there are still puddles of water, which, of course, disturbing.
Apart from a very wet track during practice one hour, the situation became worse due to strong winds blowing and temperatus low. Based on weather forecasts, conditions are similar or even worse, will happen on the next day, including during qualifying.

"My set here to wet the track was good and I feel quite happy. But I do not want ride too fast in these conditions. I think we can change, but we need to wait and see how the weather tomorrow. We hope the weather is sunny!", Rossi said

Yamaha team manager Davide Brivio, felt the crew had to work longer to increase the speed of Rossi. The performance of M1's Italian rider was not so satisfactory, so she slumped in the order of seven.

"The motor was good, but we still need time to work to set the motor Valentino in difficult conditions like this. Today we tried many different things, but it seems we still can make it more comfortable," says Brivio.

"The condition of the track very wet and it seems tomorrow will be worse. But we'll keep working and hoping to do a little improvement."

Unlike teammate, Jorge Lorenzo. Rider who had confirmed themselves as world champions of the 2010 season, after he finished third in Sepang, he would be the fastest in practice session.

"Today is the first time I was on a motorcycle after becoming world champion, and I am still very happy. We can not stop now, we must continue to go and end the season with the best results, work for the future.

"The condition today is really bad. I am very happy to be so fast in rainy conditions. Actually, I wanted to race in dry conditions, but we have to wait and see what happens."
